am in process of Dr's next week we will submit the paperwork to insurance.. Paperwork submitted on 7/12/06. so now we wait ... Lets keep fingers crossed . I am wishing to have a surgery date by august 15th .. I am a school bus driver & return to work Sept 6-7 ..so for now we wait ... Hi its Monday July 24th ..2006 & I am approved ..Date is August 10th ... I waited 11 days counting weekend .. & got a fast date ... I was hoping for Around this time & I got it ... It was pretty fast ... so now I do pre op ..& see Dr Maccura on August 8 & then I go on the 10th ...fast & sweet this process was ... & praying for same in surgery ... will post more tomorrow ...

Its been a exciting nite ..telling everyone I been approved, & just realizing this is happening very soon , I am looking
foward to this chance to change my life ..so this is the
beginning...I hope this journey is a great one...
7/26/06 thursday is my final clearence from my pcp ... I been knocking myself out with this ticker tape & it drives me nuts ..seems only I can see it on my setting page ..maybe my son can figure it out .. well been keeping busy preparing for August 10th, shopping & getting what I can in house, well soon it will be here ..and then my new Start begins .

Today I did my Final Clearance, Just have to donate 1 unit of blood next week just in case, I rather have my own blood , & do my pre-admisson testing on August 8th.. then Surgery Date is August 10 2006. Now I am sure my Best Friend Lucille is coming down from Flordia to be with me through this all & help take care of me ,, she is a Amazing best friend ..always there for you & you can always count on her ... I thank god I have a best friend like her, I also have amazing Cousins, who also I know I can count on there great support for me & are by my side also .. I know I can count on them ...My 2 Amazing Children ..I love very much & also my biggest support,, my son pushed me & came to all the consultations.. I Can Depend on both my children . My neighbors & friends are very supportive & can depend on them also ..I am blessed to have such great support ...so now my journey is upon me 2 weeks from today ....

wow its 9 days away now ... I donated my Blood yesterday, now just have presurgery testing tuesday & meet Dr Maccura & thats it Thursday the 10th I go .. My Cousins Lent me & bought to me a Reclyner from Staten Island .there just anazing Cousins , so many times I don't know , how I would have got though things & times without them . there support for me in all situations is amazing & I am very fortunate to have them, My Best friend comes next wednesday .. My Family will be here with me ... I know everyone is supporting me . My Doctor already told me when I come home from surgery to cut my Diabetis Meds in half take half dosage ... so thats a plus already. my new chance & life changes are around the corner.I am excited to live a better life .. & watch all the down sides of being heavy deminish ... & believe me there are so many, embarassing ones also .. so here I go enjoying the ride to the other side
August 7 2006 .. Tomorrow i do all my pretesting, final meet with Dr Macurra ..i even take pictures tomorrow ,,now thats scarey, but ok its just another step ..its the pictures 6 months from now i want to see & compare , well its coming down to the wire now , My son will be here tomorrow morning to be with me for pretesting & meets Dr Macurra, Lucille will be here on wed, nite. Thursday Morning we go to hospital . am wishing to come home friday & feel fine ...will write more before my day arrives .....
August 9th, 2006 Just got the call they told me to be there 7 am , so here we go into a new life, new ways ..new beginnings , I am so excited & yes nervous also .. but have great confidence in my surgery team , & My Strenght, My Best Friend Lucille will be here tonite , my children will be here , so its all a go ... my process went very smooth , now we pray the surgery goes smooth,I know it will be fine my angels with me ... till I am on the losing side ciao for now & god bless ...
8/10/06 day is here surgery @ 9 due at hospital @ 7 soon on losing side ...
8/13/06 ,,, sunday everyone is sleeping , i am 3 days since surgery ..all went very well , i was walking day 1 in hospital, came home on friday evening, i was a bit cranky i must say from nerves i guess .. & just the pain soreness , or maybe i was detoxing & missing food ..but i was cranky , but today i do feel better,i had a lot of company, & found comfort in it all ... so i know i need to get more protein in ... i will try today ...i have to make a appt..for Dr Maccura
for tuesday . i weight myself looks like 7 lbs down :-)
8/18/06 1 week home from surgery ...i really had a easy time with this whole prosess , been very amazed .how well it all turned out ... i lost around 11 pounds and never had the bad terrible gas or bad pains ..today i washed my floors & vacumes .. Lucille went home ..joey went home ..they were i blessing to have here.. so now i am on my new journey , slow steps for first 6 weeks ... my 1si fill is on Sept 19 ... Hi well its been a while its now Feb 13 2007 6 months after surgery i am down 53 lbs & happy about it ... i feel great & can walk & have so much energy ... am hoping to hit 75 by june..or early july .. i hope everyone has the easy time , i had with Lapband ...& weight loss ..till next time ....
