Surgery is tomorrow. I'm a little scared...but have faith in my doctors. I am sure they will take the best care of me of I wouldn't have chosen them.
To those who are sending well wishes to me...I am very grateful. Though I have very good support network in place, it is very reassuring to know that many have gone before me and done just fine. It helps to slow the pre-surgical fear.
To my newest and dear new friend Grouchetta--a local having same surgery, same day just different hospital: WE will be great together. You are going to be great...because you already are great! Changing the outside isn't going to change the inside--thank goodness. You're inside is beautiful. I know you understand what I mean. It's from the heart!
I will have all the help I need after surgery...but I love phone calls to any that wish to contact me. I will be at Maimomides Hospital. 718-283-6000. Not sure on my surgical time at the moment. Waiting for them to call me, but as far as I know all is a go for tomorrow-Feb 15. This is my third and final attempt at having this surgery. Keeping my fingers crossed!

3/24/06 Alright--latest update. It is now 5 1/2 weeks since my surgery. I had two really scary moments when something I ate didnt agree with me and it made me sick for days. It seems that I am now allergic to scallops. I'm not very happy about it, but I dont want to keep getting sick.
I am trying my best to do light work-out at home. I'm not quite ready to subject myself to a gym. So far, I have lost 44 lbs and I am feeling a little better. I have fibromyalgia and have had a few flare ups. They havent been terrible. I really hope that as I continue to decrease in size...the episodes will be much less. Only time will tell.

Insurer Info:

No problems with HIP Medicaid whatsoever. However, some of the doctors complain that they do not pay enough.
It's been a very simple process for me thank goodness.
